“GUT INSTINCT - www.gutinstinctfilm.net - is a bonkers film, by New Zealand-based filmmaker Doug Dillaman, and you should see it. This is a MUSIC FROM THE MOTION PICTURE soundtrack album, of sorts, and you should hear it.
A good deal of the film’s soundtrack is sourced from, in particular, shards of two albums released by Already Dead Tapes & Records: USAGE and DUTY CYCLE | ACTIVE CULTURES.
Dillaman and Hamish Scott, who work together as the oceancore duo The Sea Plus, contributed more fodder.
The remaining bleepbloop was generated by Jason Wach, who also makes music as Rack & Ruin and one half of the duo Europe in Flames. These sounds were, in turn, source material for Bruckmann’s remixes (the Portable Resonance Amplifiers) presented here, with the addition of beats, dub techniques, Minimoog overdubs and other delights.
Dillaman is responsible for the final form of the Audio-Geometric Cleanses, drawn directly from the film. ”
